Christmas house tour – Part 2

Christmas house tour 2016 - Girl about townhouseThe Christmas house tour 2016 continues!

Welcome back to my pad! Are you ready for round two?

Let’s continue the Christmas home tour where we left off, shall we?

If you haven’t seen part one of the Christmas home tour already, you can just check it out here.

So, onwards to the dining room.

It’s actually an L shape kitchen/dining room and new kitchen units were installed about a year before we moved in. This space was definitely a huge selling point when we first viewed the house. In fact, the first thing I did when we moved in to the house was run straight up to the kitchen and look inside all cupboards, wondering if we would ever fill them all. Turns out we would, pretty easily!

The kitchen/dining room will definitely be getting a mini makeover in the New Year. Nothing too drastic, we’ll certainly be keeping all the units, but I’m thinking a coat of paint, new tiles, new lighting … a rug maybe?

Now let’s talk about the cupboard unit at the end of the dining room, as this is where most of the festive decor is happening. Like a supersized dresser, I adore this part of the dining room, it houses my most treasured coffee station which undoubtably fuels my parenting abilities. Plus a ton of other miscellaneous rubbish!

We have added some of my homemade Christmas decorations to the middle shelf, which also houses a few handy mugs ready and waiting to be filled with said coffee!

If you’re a regular reader, I apologise my 5 point origami obsession has got out of control this year. I’m using them everywhere! If you want to try making your own, take a look at my video tutorial.

Let’s take a look around the Living Room

Ok, let’s head to my favourite room in the house, my living room. Originally there were two glass panel doors leading through to the lounge, but I wasn’t too keen on them, so we took them off and whilst the frame doesn’t look too pretty it does create a lovely open plan feel. I’ve added this star garland to distract you from theugly hinges on the door frame!

I wish we had a real fireplace so much! This will have to do for now. Do you notice the unusal wall panels? Absolutely no idea why they are here, but they are all around the room. I’m thinking of adding some wallpaper inside. What would you do? Let me know in the comments.

As I made quite a few decorations this year we didn’t buy too many new ones, but these adorable little toadstools are new. They fit in perfectly with the woodland theme!

Another new addition is this gorgeous light up Advent Calendar from Aldi. Amazing value, I love it!
