Aldi special buys & Sainsbury’s homeware haul

This months haul is a supermarket special! Check out super affordable homeware I’ve found in amongst the Aldi special buys and Sainsbury’s too.

Supermarkets – they’re just so darn clever aren’t they! Back in the eighties or even the nineties we wouldn’t of dreamt of buying our cushions or curtains at the local supermarket. But now it’s fairly standard to go out for your weekly shop and come home laden with candles and a new duvet cover. Or is that just me?

I just can’t resist the lure of a supermarket homeware section. It’s oh so convenient and affordable. Let’s face it, it provides a very welcome break from the mundaneness of the dreaded weekly shop.

I’m sure by now you can tell where this is leading, I may have purchased a few homeware items. So now I’ll present them to you in a mini mid-month supermarket haul. Yeah!!!

Starting with Aldi! The thing with Aldi homeware is that it’s become hugely popular and you need somewhat of a strategy if you’re actually going get the popular items. My advice is to download the Aldi app and check first thing on thursday what special buys are coming in the following week, then order online if you can. If it’s already sold out online (which happens frequently) then go to the store for opening time.

Anyway enough Aldi strategising! I’m sure you’re itching to know what it is exactly that I’ve bought from Aldi.

Well, let’s start in the living room shall we?

I’ve added a splash of yellow to my otherwise, fifty shades of grey living room. I’m still adjusting to the addition of colour to be honest! I think I got over excited and went OTT on one shade and pattern, but individually the pieces are lovely.

Here’s adorable rescue cat Arlo modelling the beanbag for us. And yes, it’s as comfortable as he’s making it look!

And there’s more! Moving on to the dining room I’m super happy with these little on trend pieces. This wire lantern is just perfect for the dining room table and fits nicely with the Ikea table runner you might remember from my Ikea & Next haul back in May.

Pineapples are certainly having a moment right now and I just had to grab this white and gold one. I’m using it to store our coffee pods!

Moving right along to Sainsbury’s. I have to commend their summer outdoor ranges, the two that really stood out for me were the gorgeous cerise and teal Butterfly House collection and the grey and white Moroccan Luxe range.

I’d been looking out for a new picnic blanket and I was lucky enough to find this one on sale. I was hugely disappointed when we went for our first picnic though. The beautiful print on the carrying case isn’t actually on the blanket, it’s just bright pink. It’s available in store only for £12.

Finally, I couldn’t resist this melamine crockery from the Moroccan Luxe collection. It’s so nice, I fully intend to use it all year round and not just in the summer.

Oh Caroline, you should show your house more often, it looks so beautiful! I absolutely love that yellow bean bag and everything else from that collection to be honest! We’ve stopped going to Aldi because it is not convenient any more but it looks like I’m gonna have to go back, and now!!!

Aww thanks much. I’ll try to. Every room is a work in progress though! I find it’s actually better to shop on the Aldi website, download the app and you can see when the homeware comes in : )

Thanks Sally. I wasn’t sure about the yellow when I first got it home, but I’m growing to like it. X
